Summertime is hay bailing time on the Mornington Peninsula. There are bails lying around everywhere. Had a lot of wild weather in Mornington lately, so here’s a couple of quick little sketches of waves. Deep in the forest. 36x54cm. Such a complex subject can easily seduce you with the detail! So best to try to ignore it and go almost abstract. It’s just an impression of the actual scene. Another large format black cockatoo. 110cm x 70cm. Just experimenting with a very loose way of painting. Water and pigment running everywhere, right on the edge of being out of control!! Exciting and scary at the same time! But the result is great texture and some amazing effects. Worth pursuing I think!! A little 1/4 sheet sketch of some tree trunks.
